Halloween 2011

Mary Grace's best friend, Sam, threw a huge Halloween party. He has been talking about this party for months! Terry and Ruth (Meredith and Sam too) threw a perfect party to kick off the night of Trick or Treating!

2 hours into the party Mary Grace was quite the scrappy looking cat!
Our main Trick or Treating group was 7 4-year olds. It was actually really perfect and we were able to keep the group together fairly easily. They had SO much fun running from door to door- competing for who could get there first and ring the door bell. They were really polite though too and waited on each other to all get candy before sprinting to the next house!

Several of the courts in the neighborhood would block off the whole cul-de-sac and sit together with their candy bowls. It was nice, one stop shopping (or candy gathering!) for the kids and so fun and neighborly! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Lexington!
We lasted about an hour with the group and then headed to our street to visit our neighbors who wanted to see Mary Grace.
Mary Grace really enjoyed checking out all of her candy, and although we told her she could eat as much as she wanted- she really only ate a piece or two. Like last year we let her pick out 5 pieces to save and we put the rest out for the Candy Fairy.
Going into Halloween season I really wasn't sure what Mary Grace's response to Candy Fairy would be. She loved it last year, but I was afraid this year she would rather just keep her candy. She really surprised me by asking about it weeks ahead of time. She was super excited. The morning after Halloween she woke up very excited to check the front door.
*Notice she is STILL wearing her Taylor Swift shirt*
And just in case anyone was wondering what NOT to do with the leftover face paint...
...not my best idea. We had finger prints all over the bathroom, burnt dinner and a screaming child as I tried to scrub it all off.
Never. Again.
