4th of July Weekend
Salisbury, North Carolina
We spent the 4th of July weekend with my family in North Carolina. Robby and Anna just moved to Salisbury and they are in the process of moving into Anna's late Grandmother's beautiful historic home. It was such a perfect setting for the weekend!
We arrived in town just after lunch on Saturday and spent the afternoon at the pool. Robby and Anna had a big cookout Saturday night with enough food to feed at least 50 people (even though there was only 9 of us!)
At some point during dinner everyone convinced Mary Grace that she needed to stay up late to catch fireflies.

*Brent wanted me to point out that it was actually very dark- the flash on my camera makes it look like it is the middle of the day*
Sunday morning we went to church and out to breakfast and then headed up to Walnut Cove to visit with my Grandma and Uncle.

Great Grandma Moorefield is incredibly skilled at crochet. She passed a few items along us while we were in town. Mary Grace was thrilled!
Nana got Mary Grace this headband. Crazy Girl wouldn't take it off for the rest of the weekend. She basically slept in it Sunday night!
Eating breakfast...still in headband!
Monday morning we headed to a neighboring small town- Faith- for a huge parade. Apparently this parade draws 30,000+ each year. President George W Bush has even made an appearence and Air Force 1 did a fly over (wish it had been this year!)

Luckly we arrived early and got a fantastic spot in the shade!
It was definitely quite a parade! The floats, fire trucks, bands, etc. lasted over 2 hours. Mary Grace enjoyed every second. She loved waving and catching candy.
This was about 1/3 of the way through the parade. The bag was basically full by the end. It was rediculous!
