Gregg Russell has been singing under this tree each summer night for 34 years. Brent and I both grew up going to see him. One of best parts of each show is when he calls kids to come up and sing. Our nephew, Owen, got chosen a few years ago and it was one of the highlights of the vacation.

Gregg Russell has been singing under this tree each summer night for 34 years. Brent and I both grew up going to see him. One of best parts of each show is when he calls kids to come up and sing. Our nephew, Owen, got chosen a few years ago and it was one of the highlights of the vacation. This year Gregg spent some time talking about how old he feels now that people who used to sit up on stage are now bringing their kids. He asked the audience how many adults had come to see him as kids. As Brent put his hand up Gregg looked at him and said "Did I ever pick you to sing?" Brent answered no, and Gregg said "well man, its never too late."
I'm almost positive Gregg was NOT expecting Brent to actually get up...but, of course, Brent ran right up there. Mary Grace wanted to go too!
Brent sang 'Rocky Top' in front of a VERY large crowed! The moment was priceless!
